Consultant for Civic Accessibility, businesses, and families.
No matter what situation, I’ve often been the person that people come to for advice.
My previous roles as a CEO, Executive Chef, Studio owner, entrepreneur and Yoga Trainer-teacher, have given me diverse skills that straddle from the demands of detail in running a company to the creative – developing the written training programs that translate ideas into reality. In addition to designing and building businesses – cafés, yoga studios and national training programs, I have been pursuing a major in Social Work & Social Development.
As a single parent I have long been devoted to diversity and inclusion, as well as creating empowered, engaged and inclusive communities. After becoming completely paralyzed at 47, I have been gifted with grace – to be able to handle most any situation, and broad insight – intcluding what it is like to have a disability in our modern world. I believe if we make a way, we will include everybody even those who don’t think they can, because – we can. I like to make a difference in peoples lives and in our common future and to enrich our world with awareness, justice and inclusivity.
The devastation and challenges of the spinal cord injury hasn’t held me back, I continue to mother, teach, work, volunteer, enjoy nature and travel. It is my intention to inspire others to engage in their own personal journeys of healing and transformation. I have been an Ambassador at the Rick Hansen Foundation for 8 years and now serve on their Consumer Advisory Panel for the Institute, in addition to extensive work with City of Vancouver Persons with Disability Advisory Committee.
I have made it my business to gather as many tools to develop my capacity to skillfully help, see and facilitate transformation: nutrition, yoga, anatomy, energy medicine, rebalancing and massage therapy, somatic training, master’s tantra training, and a Social Psychology degree at Waterloo. I have gained great insight, knowledge and experience into what makes people, organizations and communities thrive. From boardroom to hospital bed let me help you or your organization, find the BEST life can offer – and that you can offer life.
